Celebrity News: Demi Moore’s daughter Rumer speaks out

The downside of having a celebrity mum

Rumer Willis has broken her silence about her mother Demi Moore’s breakdown.

The 23-year-old was with the actress when she suffered a collapsed at her LA home last month after reportedly inhaling nitrous oxide, better known as laughing gas.

The 49-year-old is rumoured to be seeking professional treatment for ‘eating disorder and addiction issues’ at an undisclosed location

‘My mother is on the road to recovery,’ she said in an local interview first picked up by People magazine. ‘It’s slow going but we believe in her.’

We all think it would be do fantastic to have a Hollywood great for a parent but this story show us that it would certainly come with its downside. Yes you may get everything you want. yes you may get to go to glamourous parties and get a leg up in the acting world but the price you may have to pay is to parent your parent.

We see it over and over again with children of stars having to step up and step in when their parent can’t deal with “life” and turn to some kind of addiction. Or even worse you may loose your parent before there time. So before we wish we were them I think we also sometimes need to be grateful for how ordinary our lives can be. Big Fame comes with a Big price Tag and more often then not that price tag hurts the children involved. Money can not make up for a lack of emotional support.

My advice to Rumer ”Don’t take this all on yourself and get the support an help you need “

Celebrity Advice :Demi pull yourself together!

The privilege of the rich and famous

I can’t help it but I feel really mad with Demi Moore.

There are lots of reports coming in but in a nutshell, “It has been claimed that 49-year-old Demi, who has looked increasingly frail since her split from Ashton Kutcher, was rushed to hospital after a laughing gas binge at her LA mansion.”

While reports continue to come in about the whys and wherefores, I feel like I just want to say, “Demi, pull yourself together!”

We all have breaks-ups we all have bad things happen in our lives; we just have to get on with it.

Working with wealthy clients, I often find this absolute self-pity; it is almost as if they don’t have to get on with it, so they don’t. And this is a danger of having wealth and an entourage of people around you; you don’t have to get on with it and you can indulge yourself in all kind of introspective rubbish.

Demi is a mother and I think that as such, she needs to get on with it for the sake of her children.

Rumer (her daughter)has been seen outside the hospital twice. On the second occasion she obscured her face with sunglasses.

She has been desperately worried about her mother and has reportedly phoned Ashton, who is currently in Brazil, to ask for his help.

A source told Hollywoodlife.com, “Rumer is devastated. She worries day and night about her mother and has been watching her mom fall apart.”

“Rumer actually reached out to Ashton on several occasions and he just blew her off. He either wouldn’t answer or he’d say he’d help, but nothing would happen.”

I do not believe that it is right to worry your children so much. Yes, be sad; yes, have private moments but really, this self-indulgent Poor Me attitude is just not cutting it. If you lost everything tomorrow, you would soon realise that self-pity really is for the rich and famous.
