Celebrity Gossip: Lily Collins (daughter of Phil Collins) speaks out

Phil Collins’ daughter Lily speaks out about finding fame on her own

Having a famous father can be both a help and a hindrance when it comes to making a name for yourself.

But Lily Collins, daughter of Genesis singer Phil, is finding her star firmly on the rise and has spoken out about finding her own feet in the limelight.

The 22-year-old graced the cover of Seventeen’s March issue and talked about being part of a famous family.

The beautiful brunette told the magazine: ‘My last name may have opened doors, but I have to keep them open.’

Lily, who is appearing in the lead role alongside Julia Roberts in the upcoming adaptation of Snow White, has been making waves in the world of acting of modeling of late.

Lily embarked on her own career two decades ago with a debut role in BBC series Growing Pains at the tender age of two.

She has since starred as Sandra Bullock’s daughter in 2009 production The Blind Side and co-starred with Twilight hunk Taylor Lautner in last year’s action film Abduction.

However, sharing the screen with A-lister Roberts in Snow White will be her biggest role to date.

it is funny isn’t it that children of famous people really do think that this hasn’t helped them as much as they think. And why would they been in that world all the time so I guess you get a different perspective on life. However what Lily needs to realise is that getting the door opened is the most difficult piece and while she may be talented really this leg up is all to do with her famous dad.

I have to say though she does she down to earth and I wish her all the best…but your social circle does really mean everything Lily.

Celebrity News: Heidi Klum and Seal confirm the end of their marriage

Heidi Klum and Seal have confirmed the end of their seven-year marriage in a joint statement.

Reports emerged on Saturday that the pair were to divorce amid claims the supermodel was fed up with her husband’s ‘hard partying’.

However, in an official statement this morning, the couple blamed their split on ‘growing apart’.

The statement read: ‘While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate.

‘We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart.

‘This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition.

‘We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children’s sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy.’

And it is those children I am worried about.   It is so sad to see a couple that looked so much in love grow apart – it makes us look at our own relationships more I think.  I do hope that these two can handle this in a grown up way and that the press really do allow them to sort this out for “the sake of the children” . They have three children together – Henry, six, Johan, five, and Lou, two – as well as Miss Klum’s daughter Leni, seven, from a previous relationship with Italian businessman Flavio Briatore.

My advice to the pair is to put these children first whatever happens. To be  civial and come up with a robust plan of how they can ensure their children still feel safe in the midst of all this.  Talk to the children make sure they know this is not their fault and be as honest with them as they can be.

All my best to this family I can only imagine what they must be going through.
